Shawn Hyland is a New Jersey–based public policy advocate and ministry leader known for his work defending parental rights, religious freedom, and pro-family public policy. He currently serves as the Director of Advocacy for the New Jersey Family Policy Center (NJFPC), where he leads statewide policy strategy, political engagement, and grassroots mobilization efforts.
Hyland’s work centers on equipping New Jersey residents—especially parents—to effectively engage with legislators, school boards, and community leaders. He is a frequent speaker at public events and forums, where he provides tools and training for civic participation and advocacy.
Before joining NJFPC, Hyland served as the Executive Director of the Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey and previously founded Move the Earth, a ministry focused on strengthening faith and reversing trends of unbelief. His background also includes serving as the New Jersey State Coordinator for Christians United for Israel, where he led large-scale lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
Hyland has also been active in the political arena. He ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District in 2022, though he suspended his campaign to support Rep. Chris Smith (R).
An ordained minister since 2006, Hyland brings a faith-centered perspective to his work, emphasizing the importance of strong families, community engagement, and the protection of human life at all stages.
